Turn based cross country gliding game. Can you get your LS-4 around the task?
Hexes are 1 km. Start is generated within 10 km of launch and finish within 3 km. Smaller cloud clumps and streets give route choices. Climbs are only known after sampling them or watching another glider use them.
You are flying an LS-4 around a set task. Reach the Start, then each red turnpoint in order, then the Finish. You must finish at or above 500 ft.
You lose height while cruising. You gain height by stopping in usable lift under clouds. Clouds build, peak, decay, and sometimes turn into sink. Terrain affects likely lift: dry fields and urban triggers are often useful, lakes are usually poor, and forest can go either way.
Each move is one adjacent hex. Select a MacCready/block speed, then click one of the outlined adjacent hexes. Faster speeds reduce elapsed time, but increase sink. Wind changes ground speed: into wind takes longer and costs more height; downwind is faster.
Use “Thermal here” when you are on a cloud and want to climb. Thermalling is one minute at a time and stops once you are too close to cloudbase. “Wait” advances time without moving.
Do not chase every cloud. At good height, keep moving toward the next turnpoint. As you get lower, divert toward likely triggers or visible clouds. On final glide, watch the estimated arrival height and keep at least 500 ft.
